Punjab Government to fill all JE and above level engineering post through a common exam by PPSC
The Punjab government to fill all the engineering posts at
the level of Junior Engineer (JE) and above in all Departments/ Boards/
Corporations/ Authorities etc shall be filled through Punjab Public Service
Commission (PPSC) by conducting a common exam.
Punjab Employment Generation Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh
Channi disclosing this here today said that decision in this regard was taken
in the recent cabinet meeting which would bring uniformity in the recruitment
process of these posts.
The Employment Generation Minister said that this decision
would be very beneficial for the job aspirants and ease the recruitment process
which was presently being carried out at the multiple levels of agencies. The
recruitment through a single channel would bring uniformity through a common test
and smoothen the recruitment process.
Mr. Channi further said that the job aspirants would be able
to focus on a consolidated, single syllabus for their preparation. ‘It would
also reduce the financial burden on the applicants as well as on the state
which had to bear the burden for conducting multiple tests. He said that the
Punjab Cabinet has also approved a state employment plan for 2020-22 to fill
jobs in government departments, boards, corporations, and agencies in a phased
and time-bound manner.
Mr. Rahul Tewari Secretary of Employment Generation and
Training said that this is the result of continuous efforts of Punjab
Government to ease all the recruitment process by bringing it under one
umbrella of Ghar Ghar Rozgar Mission. He said that such more steps would be
taken to bring efficiency and transparency in the recruitment for the
government posts. A single exam would mean recruitment against a larger number
of vacancies at one go which saves time and effort of the government machinery.
This would also avoid a situation where a single student gets selected for
multiple posts and delays the process of filling up the posts.
